From managing waiting lists using artificial intelligence to real-time digital localization of hospital technology, from a platform that quickly identifies nearby pharmacies with the desired medication to an innovative telemedicine model for ophthalmology distributed across the territory.
ASST Papa Giovanni XXIII presented the project “Indoor Tracking of Electromedical Devices,” a new real-time digital localization system for the hospital’s technological equipment, which has enabled real-time monitoring of the distribution of technology within the facility. The tracking covers approximately 3,000 devices and pieces of equipment out of a total of 17,000 installed devices. This includes equipment such as electrocardiographs, ultrasound machines, probes, syringe pumps, defibrillators, electrosurgical units, external pacemakers, carts for electronic medical records, and computerized drug therapy.
Jury’s Rationale: …because it not only enhances internal efficiency related to the management of the installed equipment (a total of 17,000 items) but also ensures greater clinical safety for patients through comprehensive real-time tracking and digital localization of technological resources.
