A wristband to communicate the patient’s location, track movements from the ward to the operating room and back, and monitor the duration of the procedure with utmost precision. It also serves as a tool to inform the patient’s relatives in real-time about what is happening, minute by minute. Starting in mid-January, the technology within Alessandria Hospital will take a significant leap forward thanks to a unique project in Piedmont, with very few similar cases in Italy. The application, developed by TapMyLife using ‘beacon’ technology, will be valuable both for internal hospital process management and for ensuring maximum transparency of information to the public.
‘The improvement of many services and the optimization of time and resources involve a different organization that incorporates technology and a methodology similar to that used in manufacturing companies, but with a fundamental difference: at the center is not a product but the patient’s life,’ explains Caterina Bianciardi, Operations Management Engineer, Head of Operational Management – Strategic Development and Organizational Innovation at the ‘Santi Antonio e Biagio e Cesare Arrigo’ Hospital in Alessandria.
This innovative and impactful solution, developed by TapMyLife for Alessandria Hospital, is backed by their expertise in E-Health, which has been certified by two awards at the Health Innovation Prize from the Politecnico di Milano and the Excellence Award from the European Commission in previous years. This is a significant achievement resulting from continuous collaboration with the hospital, reinforcing its status as a center of excellence in the Italian healthcare landscape.
