Unfortunately, the issue of missing persons in Italy is far from diminishing. According to the XXVIII report of the Government’s Extraordinary Commissioner, last year saw 24,369 missing person reports. Almost half of these individuals, 12,170, were found, but 175 were found deceased, while 12,199 remain unaccounted for. Often, these cases involve individuals with cognitive disorientation.
In 2022, there were 1,021 cases of patients leaving hospitals and care facilities. These are significant numbers, and we believe it is the responsibility of the entire community to exert every effort to contain this social phenomenon, which unfortunately can affect anyone.
For this reason, TapMyLife has decided to actively support the Alzheimer Friends Association OdV by launching a pilot project and a fundraising campaign to purchase a system that secures hospital facilities and prevents the risk of vulnerable patients fleeing from emergency departments.
TapMyLife has always been sensitive to this issue, advocating for patient safety systems and the abandonment of physical restraints. We have decided to contribute by sponsoring this project, which represents a commitment to civilization and the prevention of events that, even when resolved favorably, have a terrible impact on patients’ mental health, their families, and hospital staff.
We stand with the Alzheimer Friends Association OdV and will continually support such initiatives. This is also what doing business means: using our expertise to provide concrete solutions to such important issues.
